This nymph pattern ranks among the top ten favorite flies to use anywhere I go fishing. I initially tried it out after haring about it after the 2014 World Fly Fishing Championships held in the Czech Republic. Right from the start, it proved highly effective on my local trout streams, and it has continued to perform well in various waters I've fished since then. Compared to more imitative nymph patterns, this fly seems to have an extra alluring quality that triggers strikes even when trout aren't actively feeding or unwilling to expend much energy. I recommend giving this nymph a try on your nearest trout stream to see how the fish in your area respond to it.
